ABOUT
Joyce Wilson is a nationally respected nonprofit leader, grant strategist, author, and community advocate with more than 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector and over 30 years in the grant profession. She is passionate about empowering rural grassroots organizations with the tools, strategies, and resources necessary to strengthen communities and improve lives.
Throughout her career, Joyce has focused on prevention, education, mentoring, leadership development, and community engagement initiatives that empower youth and families. She has successfully secured more than $13 million in grant funding to support programs in youth development, behavioral health, workforce readiness, education, and family empowerment.
Joyce began her public service career with the State of Florida, where she worked extensively in grant management, reimbursement oversight, compliance, and funding distribution to support high-risk communities statewide. Her experience administering state and federal initiatives established a strong foundation in program oversight, fiscal accountability, and community investment. She later shifted her focus toward assisting faith-based and community organizations in developing sustainable initiatives designed to strengthen families, empower youth, and create meaningful community impact. Through training, technical assistance, and strategic planning, Joyce has helped organizations build their capacity to access resources, expand services, and address critical community needs.
In addition to serving as Executive Director of Unity Family Community Center, Joyce has worked as a consultant with Intuitive Synergies for more than 12 years and served as a Community Coach with Florida State University’s Center for Prevention. Through her leadership, writing, and speaking, Joyce continues to inspire others to lead with purpose, faith, and impact.
